Design

The editor

Paint, write and place logos directly on the in-game texture, and watch the result on a 3D model while you work.

Finding your way around

The EUP Maker editor puts the garment's texture in the middle of the screen. Everything else floats around it:

  1. 1. AI design, 3D preview, Add to pack, Build pack: garment and pack actions
  2. 2. Tools: move, brush, eraser, text, shape, image
  3. 3. Layers: everything you add, above the template
  4. 4. Live preview: your design on the 3D garment
  5. 5. UV guide: shows which part of the model is where

The strip above the texture shows its size, the zoom and how many layers you have. Undo, redo, zoom and the shortcut list sit on the right of it. Tab hides the side panels when you need more room.

Reading the texture

A texture is the garment cut open and laid flat. Front, back and sleeves sit side by side, often upside down or stretched. This is normal, and it is exactly the image the game wraps around the model.

Two ways to find the right spot:

  • UV guide, bottom left: draws the outline of every part over the texture, with its own opacity slider.
  • Click the 3D preview: a green ring marks the clicked point on the texture. Drag the preview to turn the model instead.
  1. 1. UV guide: on and off, with its own opacity
  1. 1. Click on the model: without dragging
  2. 2. Green ring: the same point on the texture

The tool bar at the bottom holds five tools and the image button. Every tool has a key.

Text and name tapes

With the Text tool, click where the text should start, type and press Ctrl+Enter or click outside. The panel on the right sets the text, font, size, bold and italic, alignment, letter spacing, fill colour and an outline.

  1. 1. Text (T): click on the texture to place text
  2. 2. Font: 13 fonts, including uniform lettering
  3. 3. Fill: text colour

There are 13 fonts: nine standard ones such as Arial and Impact, and four display fonts for uniforms and liveries: Anton, Bebas Neue, Black Ops One and Oswald.

Good to know

For a name tape, add a white rectangle with the Shape tool first, then dark text on top of it.

Logos, badges and your own images

Add an image opens a menu with two sources. Upload a picture from your computer, or pick a ready graphic from the library: stars, shields, patches and name tapes for police, sheriff, EMS, fire, security and K-9.

  1. 1. Add an image (I)
  2. 2. Upload from your computer: PNG with transparency works best
  3. 3. Library: ready badges, stars and name tapes

You can also drop an image file on the texture or paste one with Ctrl+V. Use a PNG with a transparent background for logos, so only the logo shows on the fabric.

A selected image can be moved, scaled and turned on the texture. The panel adds Centre, Fit, Fill and flips. Fill stretches a picture over the whole texture, which is how you use a full pattern.

Layers

Everything you add is its own layer. The garment itself is the Template layer at the bottom, locked so it cannot slide away.

  • Drag layers in the list to change what lies on top.
  • The eye hides a layer, a double click renames it.
  • The + in the Layers header adds an image, an empty paint layer, text or a shape.
  • Duplicate and delete sit at the top of the settings panel of the selected layer.

Colours and adjustments

Picture layers, including the Template, have Light and Color sliders. Select the layer in the list to see them.

  1. 1. Template: select the layer
  2. 2. Hue: recolours the whole garment
  • Light: exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites and blacks.
  • Color: temperature, tint, hue, vibrance and saturation. Hue on the Template recolours the whole garment.
  • Opacity and Blend set how a layer mixes with what is under it.

Each group has a Reset link. Adjustments change the picture itself, not paint strokes on a paint layer.

The live 3D preview

The preview bottom left shows your design on the garment, updated a moment after every change. It turns by itself; Stop holds it and Spin starts it again. Drag to turn it by hand.

Each base design, Sheriff, EMS, Fire and Police, lands on the texture and on the 3D preview a moment after the click.

3D preview in the header hides or shows it. On a phone it starts hidden, so it does not cover the texture.

Textures with skin

Some garments carry skin on the same texture, for example pants with bare legs or short sleeves. The editor then shows a warning at the top left.

  1. 1. skin areas: paint only on the fabric

Paint only on the fabric. Paint on the skin parts shows on the character's body in game. The UV guide helps to see where the fabric ends.
