Export and use it

Export and the result

One button builds the animation into a FiveM resource. It takes seconds, and the result stays in your animations.

Before you export

An export is final: a change afterwards needs a new export at the full price. Check three things first:

  • Play it through, from the start and with the preview loop on, and turn the camera once to see it from the side.
  • Loop in the panel: on for idles and repeating gestures, off for a one-shot move.
  • The name in the toolbar. It becomes the command, the animation dictionary and the clip name.
  1. 1. Name: the in-game name; change it any time before export
  2. 2. Export · 400 credits: opens the export panel

The name is made safe for the game as you type: lower case letters, digits and underscores, up to 63 characters, starting with a letter. Spaces and other characters become underscores. An empty name exports as myanim.

The export panel

Export · 400 credits opens the export panel and plays the animation from the start once more, so you can watch it while you decide.

  1. 1. Your FiveM resource: the command, length, poses and loop
  2. 2. Price: the price of the export
  3. 3. Export for 400 credits: starts the build

The credits are held when you press Export for 400 credits and charged only when the build succeeds. Close the panel with the cross to go back to posing; nothing is charged until you press the button.

While it builds

The panel follows the build through Queued, Preparing, Baking animation and Packaging. The wave in these docs took 14 seconds.

You can close the page. The build keeps running and the animation lands in your animations.

Download

When the build is done, the panel turns green:

  1. 1. Download resource (.zip): the FiveM resource
  2. 2. It's also saved in your animations: download it again later

The download is friendly_wave.zip for the wave. The animation stays in your animations, so you can download it again at any time.

Next: play it in game.

The result page

Every export is listed under My animations, next to your video animations, and marked Built in the editor:

  1. 1. friendly_wave: opens the finished animation

Opening it shows the Rigged preview. It starts on a default ped, which can be a character such as Shrek; the model button at the top picks any other ped of the library, male or female. Download animation pack below it downloads the resource again.

  1. 1. Model button: shows the ped name; pick another ped for the preview

The Source tile next to it says Unavailable, and the details show video fields without values. A builder animation has no video, so you can ignore both.

Under the download, Add a prop to this animation puts an object into the ped's hands for 500 credits. It works the same as for video animations; see Edit it or add a prop.

The animation also has a page under Assets, My assets, with the Animated filter. It shows the animation with its chat command and the install steps:

  1. 1. /friendly_wave: plays the clip on your ped in game

Its FiveM .zip button at the top right is one more way to download:

  1. 1. FiveM .zip: downloads the resource

Note

An export cannot be opened in the builder again, and the export clears the saved draft. To change a finished animation, build it again and export it under the same or a new name.
