FAQ

Short answers to what people ask most about Prop Studio and Prop Attach.

General

Do I need a subscription?

No. A Prop Studio render is 100 credits and a Prop Attach build 500. Any credits work.

Can I animate a vehicle door or a ped?

No. Prop Studio makes props. For ped animations, use AI Animations or the Animation Builder.

Is Prop Studio still in beta?

Yes, it is marked Beta. Renders are checked like any other job, and failed ones cost nothing.

Do I pay for a failed render or build?

No. Credits are held while the job runs and only charged when it succeeds.

Animating props

Does the animated door block players?

No. The resource has no collision, so players and vehicles pass through the prop. Use it where that does not matter, or add your own collision in a separate prop.

Can I put the animated prop into my map or MLO?

The prop is a normal model with its own archetype, so you can spawn it anywhere from a script. The animation only plays when a script calls PlayEntityAnim on it; see Playing it from your own script.

Can I save my setup and continue later?

Not before rendering: the studio keeps no drafts, so closing the tab loses the setup. After a render, Edit animation on the prop's page reopens everything.

Can one prop have an open and a close animation?

Yes. Add a second clip with the + next to Clip, animate it, and play each by name from your script. The test command plays only the first clip. Every clip needs keyframes.

Can I animate a model from the 3D Generator?

Yes, with Animate on its page. Generated models are one mesh, so the whole model moves: good for spinning signs or floating items, not for a door in a frame.

What FPS should I use?

Keep 30. Changing it makes the same number of frames play faster or slower.

Props on animations

Can I attach a prop to a GTA animation or one I did not make here?

No. Prop Attach works on your own finished animations from AI Animations and the Animation Builder.

How many props can one animation carry?

Up to 4, each on its own bone or on the same one.

Can I change the placement after the build?

Not in the studio: a new placement is a new build at 500 credits. If you only need a small change, you can also edit the numbers in the PROPS table of client.lua yourself.

My animation has loop clips. Does Prop Attach keep them?

The Prop Attach resource currently plays the main clip of each version, /moonwalk and /moonwalk_move. The loop clips of a seamless loop are not part of it at the moment.

On the server

Do players need to download anything?

No. FiveM streams the prop and the animation to players when they join, like any resource.

Does it work with ESX, QBCore and Qbox?

Yes. The resources do not depend on a framework. Use the test command, or play the clip from any script.

Does it work in single player?

The resources are made for FiveM. The game files inside are standard GTA V files, but we do not support single player.
