GLB to FiveM

Turn a 3D model you already have into a FiveM prop: model, textures, collision and type file in one ready resource.

What GLB to FiveM does

GLB to FiveM takes a 3D model you already have and builds the files a FiveM server streams to its players. You get a prop that can be spawned from a script, placed in a map or used in other resources.

A workbench model after the conversion, in the 3D editor of Assets.
  • .ydr

    The model the game draws.
  • .ytd

The textures, compressed for GTA V.
  • .ybn

The collision, so players and vehicles bump into the prop.
  • .ytyp

The type file that tells the game the model name and its size.

The result is always a prop: an object that stands still or is attached to something. A model does not become clothing, a vehicle or a character. For uniforms, use the EUP Maker.

Two ways to convert

  • Account

    Free converter page:Not needed
    Assets, with an account:Needed
  • Settings

    Free converter page:Fixed
Assets, with an account:Usage, Low poly, texture size, packaging
  • After the conversion

    Free converter page:Download the zip
Assets, with an account:The 3D editor with free rebuilds, and a list of all your props

Note:Best choice. Model, materials and textures in one file.
  • FBX

    Up to:100 MB
Note:Works when the textures are embedded in the file.

Note:Put it in a ZIP with its MTL and image files.
  • USD, USDC, USDZ

    Up to:100 MB
    Note:USDA: 50 MB.
  • DAE

    Up to:50 MB
    Note:Collada, from most 3D programs.
  • STL, PLY

    Up to:50 MB
Note:Shape only. STL carries no colours or textures.
  • ZIP

    Up to:100 MB
Note:A model with the files it needs. See ZIP bundles.

Blender files (.blend) are not accepted. Export the model from Blender as GLB first, see export settings.

What you download

Every conversion downloads as one zip. These are the files of a real conversion of a model called workbench:

  • fxmanifest.lua

The resource manifest. It registers the YTYP and streams everything in the stream folder.
  • stream/

    workbench.ydr, workbench.ytd, workbench.ytyp and workbench_col.ybn.
  • workbench.glb

The model as GLB, for Blender or other tools. Not needed on the server.

The zip has no outer folder, so you make one when you install it. With Single YDR packaging in Assets, the stream folder holds only the YDR and the YTYP. See Packaging.

Keep the YTYP

The YTYP is what makes the model name known to the game. Without it the prop does not load, even if the YDR is there.

What it costs

Converting a model is free, on the free page and in Assets. The dialog in Assets shows Free conversion where other builds show a price. Fixing the prop in the editor afterwards and rebuilding it is free too.

Making a prop from a photo instead of a model is a different tool with its own prices: the 3D Generator.
