Troubleshooting

Most failed merges are two packs with the same file names, a ZIP without a stream folder, or the wrong merger for the pack. Start at the top.

Two packs stream the same file name

FiveM cannot stream two files with the same name, so the Resource Merger stops when two sources share one. You see it as:

  • In the app, in the merge bar before anything starts: These assets stream files with the same name and cannot be bundled together, followed by the files and assets.
  • On the upload page: Two resources stream the same file name.

What to do depends on why the names match:

  • The same prop twice, for example an asset and its rebuild. Keep one of them.
  • Two map packs that edit the same part of the map. Many map packs ship their own version of the same game ymap. These packs change the same place and would clash on a server anyway. Keep one, or keep both as separate resources if their authors say they work together.
  • Two different props with the same name. Give one a new name, for example as a reskin in Prop Reskin, then merge.
  • A ZIP with the same file in two folders. The upload version stops on that too. Remove the duplicate folder from the ZIP.

On the upload page the message under the error names only the problem, not every file. Unzip the packs and compare their stream folders to find the shared names.

No streamable files found

No streamable files found means one ZIP has no game files inside a folder named stream. Common causes:

  • The ZIP is a script resource, for example a job or a menu. Scripts are not merged; keep them as they are.
  • The game files are loose in the ZIP or in a folder with another name. Put them into a folder named stream and zip again.
  • The ZIP holds screenshots or docs of a pack, not the pack.

That looks like a clothing pack

The Resource Merger refuses clothing with That looks like a clothing pack, because clothing needs its YMT and meta files merged. Take that ZIP out and merge it in the EUP Merger.

  1. 1. That looks like a clothing pack
  2. 2. Open the FiveM EUP Merger for clothing packs: the right tool

The other way round, the EUP Merger answers a prop pack with No clothing files found. Merge props in the Resource Merger.

A pack has a broken YMT

A pack has a broken YMT means the EUP Merger could not read a collection file. The message below it names the pack and the file. The merge stops and nothing is made.

  • Merge the other packs without that one and install it as its own resource.
  • If you made the pack yourself, export it again from the tool you made it with.
  • Packs protected by Cfx asset escrow are encrypted. The EUP Merger cannot read or change them, so keep escrowed packs as their own resources.

Limits and waiting

  • Hourly free limit reached: the upload version and the EUP Merger allow 3 merges per hour per connection. The message shows how long to wait. Checking a running merge and downloading do not count, but other free tools on the site used from the same connection in that hour can.
  • A free merge is already running: only a few free merges run at the same time for all visitors. Try again in a minute.
  • Maximum 6 packs per merge or Maximum 10 resources per merge: the page takes no more files. Split the packs into two merges; each merge becomes its own resource.
  • A file is refused before upload: the page names it when it is not a ZIP, or larger than 64 MB (Resource Merger) or 48 MB (EUP Merger). Remove previews and docs from the ZIP, or split the pack.
  • In the app: A merge takes at most 20 assets. Merge in two resources.
  1. 1. Try again in … min.: how long until the next merge

Merges in the app have no hourly limit; they count as jobs of your account, and three can run at once.

Props or clothing do not show in game

Go through these in order:

  • Folder. The folder in resources must hold fxmanifest.lua directly. A Resource Merger zip extracted straight into resources scatters its files; see the install steps.
  • ensure line. It must match the folder name exactly, for clothing including _clothing.
  • Originals. The original resources must be gone from server.cfg. See why.
  • Restart. Restart the whole server and reconnect.
  • Clothing rule. Clothing needs Element Club Argentum or sv_maxclients 10 or less. See the streaming rule.
  • Renamed collection. Outfits that use a renamed collection need the new name.
  • Tattoos, interiors, cars. These do not work after a merge. Install their original resources instead.

If players crash while loading characters after adding clothing, the cause is the clothing itself, not how many resources it comes in. Merging does not fix such a crash. Take packs out one by one to find the one that causes it.
