Build and install
Building and downloading
Name the prop, check the price and press Create. The resource is usually ready within half a minute.
The New prop settings
Everything about the finished prop is set in the right panel of the Reskin Studio, under AI Design. Scroll the panel down to see all of it:
- 1. Spawn name: the model name in game
- 2. Add variant: more skins in one pack
- 3. GPU memory: estimate per prop
- 4. Create reskin: 40 credits
Spawn name
The name of the new prop in game, also used for the files and the resource. The line under it, Spawns in-game as, shows the cleaned-up result.Add variant
Adds a second skin and turns the prop into a variant pack.Notes
For yourself. Shown on the job page, not part of the resource.Share with the community when ready
Shares the finished reskin with other SwisserAI users. Off by default.Summary
How many textures you changed, or Edit a texture from the list to enable creating. while nothing is changed yet.GPU memory
Estimated memory of one prop or skin. FiveM warns above 16 MB.Price and balance
For example 40 credits and your balance, right above the button.Create reskin
Starts the build. In a pack it reads Create pack (3 variants).
Choosing a spawn name
The spawn name is how scripts and map tools find your prop, so pick one that is yours. It starts as the file name of the .ydr.
- Lowercase letters, digits and underscores, up to 64 characters. The studio turns spaces and other characters into
_for you. - It cannot start with a prefix the game uses for its own objects, such as
prop_,v_,hei_,apa_,ba_,gr_,xm_. The error names the prefix and suggests your own instead, for examplemyserver_. - It cannot be the name of an object that is already in GTA V. So a reskinned GTA prop always needs a new name.
- Skins in one pack need different names.
Good to know
Use one short prefix for your server, for example ls_barrier_blue. It keeps your props together and away from other packs.
Creating the prop
Create reskin uploads your textures and opens the job page. The build runs on our side; you can close the page and come back later. The job page shows four stages:
- Queued, Reading the prop, Applying your textures (at the original size and format), Packaging.
- Our single reskin was done after 15 seconds, the pack of three after 45 seconds, counted from the click.
- You can run up to 3 asset jobs at the same time.
Create reskin stays grey until a texture is changed, the name is set and your balance covers the price. With too few credits the panel says how many you need, with Top up and Upgrade plan.
The result page
When the build is done, the job page shows the new prop in a 3D view you can turn, with the actions in the header:
- 1. FiveM .zip: downloads the resource
- 1. Share with the community: optional
- 2. FiveM .zip: the ready resource
- FiveM .zip downloads the resource.
- The arrow next to it opens more downloads: the GLB Model of the reskin and each single file of the resource.
- A pack shows its first skin in the 3D view. The download menu lists the single files of every skin.
Inside the zip
The files sit at the top level of the zip, without a folder around them. These are the downloads from our runs:
fxmanifest.lua
stream/barrier_blue.ydr
stream/barrier_blue.ytypfxmanifest.lua
stream/barrier.ytyp
stream/barrier_blue.ydr
stream/barrier_neon.ydr
stream/barrier_yellow.ydr- One
.ydrper skin, named after its spawn name. Your textures are inside it, so there is no separate.ytd. - One
.ytyp, named after the prop or the pack, that registers every spawn name with the game. fxmanifest.luastreams both and loads the.ytyp; see the manifest.
Finding your reskins again
Every reskin stays on the Prop Reskins page, which the sidebar entry Prop Reskin opens. Search by name, filter by status and open a card to download it again. The same reskins are in My assets under Reskins.
- 1. New Reskin: opens the Reskin Studio
- 2. All, Queued, Processing, Completed, Failed
Next: install it on your server. A pack of three costs 70 credits; a single reskin 40.
