Pausing and removing a server

You can pause collection, disconnect the agent, uninstall it or delete everything. Here is what each one does.

Four ways to stop

  • Pause

    Agent:Keeps checking in, reads nothing
    Your data at SwisserAI:Stays
    Undo:Resume
  • Disconnect

    Agent:Stops and forgets this server
    Your data at SwisserAI:Stays
    Undo:Connect an agent again
  • Uninstall

    Agent:Removed from the machine
    Your data at SwisserAI:Stays
    Undo:Install again
  • Delete the server

    Agent:Locked out at once
Your data at SwisserAI:No longer viewable, then removed
    Undo:Cannot be undone

To leave nothing behind, disconnect first, then uninstall, then delete the server.

Pause

Under Agent and updates, press Pause. The agent keeps checking in but does not read your database or collect server health until you press Resume. Reports show the time in between as a gap.

Disconnect the agent

In the Danger zone, press Disconnect. The agent stops sending data. Collected data stays until you delete the server, and you can connect an agent again later.

  • If the agent is online, it removes itself from the server: it deletes the separate read-only database account it created, its local buffer and its link to your server. The program stays installed until you uninstall it.
  • If it is offline, it is locked out at once. It cannot clean up, so remove the database account yourself.

Uninstall the agent

  1. 1

Open a Command Prompt as administrator

Search for cmd in the Start menu, right-click it and choose Run as administrator.

  2. 2

    Run the uninstall

    "C:\Program Files\SwisserAgent\swisser-agent.exe" uninstall --purge

This removes the service, the program and its local data. If Windows says the folder is in use, delete C:\Program Files\SwisserAgent by hand afterwards.

Note

Without --purge, the local data stays. That is useful if you want to reinstall later and keep the link to your server.

Remove the database account

If you chose the separate read-only account, the agent created a database login named swisser_ro. Disconnecting an online agent removes it. Otherwise remove it yourself, for example in HeidiSQL or phpMyAdmin under the user list, or with SQL as a database admin:

SELECT User, Host FROM mysql.user WHERE User = 'swisser_ro';
DROP USER 'swisser_ro'@'localhost';

Use the host from the first line in place of localhost if it differs.

If you used your existing connection, there is nothing to remove.

Your game database

Your game data is never changed by any of these steps. The agent only ever read it.

Delete the server and its data

  1. 1

    Open the Danger zone

In the server settings, open Danger zone. Only the owner can delete a server.

  2. 2

    Press Delete server

Type the server name to confirm, then press Delete everything.

  3. 3

    What happens next

    • The agent stops sending at once and every member loses access.
    • Alerts and Discord notices of this server stop.
    • The data can no longer be viewed. Stored crash dumps are removed, and the rest runs out on its normal schedule.
    • Discord messages that were already sent stay in Discord.

This cannot be undone

If you only want a break, use Pause instead.
