Tattoo Studio

Turn a PNG into add-on tattoos and MC patches for FiveM: place them on both freemode peds and download one resource with configs for the common appearance scripts.

What the Tattoo Studio does

The Tattoo Studio makes add-on tattoos for FiveM. You put a design on a 3D preview of the freemode ped, place it where it belongs, and download a resource that adds the tattoo to your server.

The swallow from the quick start on the left chest of the male ped, in the live preview of the studio.

Your tattoos are add-ons: they get their own collection and names, next to the game's own tattoos. Nothing of the vanilla tattoos is replaced, and no OpenIV, CodeWalker or texture converter is needed.

  • Both freemode peds: every design is built for the male and the female ped, each with its own placement.
  • All body zones: torso, both arms, both legs and the head, with 6 zones and the spots the game itself uses.
  • Up to 12 designs per pack, as one resource.

Where the design comes from

  • Upload your design

What you bring:A PNG with a transparent background, or a JPG, WebP or SVG.
    Price:Free
  • Let the AI draw it

What you bring:A description, a reference picture, or both. You get two takes.
    Price:150 credits per generation

Either way, the design lands on the ped, you place it, and you can add text or adjust it in the design editor before you build.

Tattoos and patches

Each design is a tattoo, drawn on the skin, or a patch, drawn on the torso badge layer the game uses for crew emblems. Patches are for MC patches, club emblems and badges. See MC patches and badges.

What you download

Every build gives you one zip with one folder, a complete FiveM resource:

  • fxmanifest.lua

The manifest. It registers the overlay file and the shop list, so there is nothing to add.
  • sw_user3jwr_overlays.xml

The overlay collection: one male and one female entry per design, with its placement.
  • stream/

One texture dictionary per design, in the format of the game’s own tattoos.
  • configs/

Ready snippets for illenium-appearance, fivem-appearance, xnTattoos and rcore_tattoos.

See What is in the resource for every file.

What it costs

You pay in credits when you build or when the AI draws. Uploading, placing and previewing are free.

  • A pack, 1 to 12 designs

    40
  • An AI design, 2 takes

    150
  • No subscription is needed; any credits work.
  • The buttons always show the live price, including a running discount.
  • Without an account, the free Tattoo Studio builds a pack with one design, 3 times an hour, from an upload up to 8 MB. It has no AI design.

What it cannot do

  • Freemode peds only. Placements are made for the male and female freemode ped. On other peds a tattoo lands in the wrong spot or not at all.
  • No glow and no animation. A tattoo is a flat image on the body.
  • No tint. The colours are baked in; players cannot recolour a tattoo.
  • Not saved as a draft. The studio keeps your work only while the page is open. The built pack is kept.

Note

Test a new pack on a development server first: apply every design on both peds, bare and with the clothing your players wear.
