FAQ

Short answers about prices, peds, scripts and what the tattoos can do.

General

Is the Tattoo Studio free?

Placing and previewing are free. A pack costs 40 credits with an account, for up to 12 designs. Without an account, the free Tattoo Studio builds packs with one design, 3 times an hour.

Do I need a subscription?

No. Any credits work. An AI design costs 150 credits for two takes.

Can tattoos be in colour?

Yes. The colours of your image are kept. Dark ink reads best on skin; white is inked white.

Can a tattoo glow or move?

No. A tattoo is a flat image on the body.

Does it replace the GTA tattoos?

No. Every pack is an add-on collection. The vanilla tattoos stay.

Making tattoos

Can I change a pack after the build?

Not in place. The studio keeps no drafts, so set the designs up again and build a new pack for 40 credits. Keep your PNGs and note the spots you used.

Can I use tattoo designs I bought or downloaded?

Only if the licence allows you to use and change them on your server. Upload them like your own design.

Can I turn a photo into a tattoo?

Yes, as a reference image for the AI design. The AI follows the picture closely, so a clear subject on a plain background works best. See Redrawing a reference image.

Can I add a name or a date to a tattoo?

Yes, with the Text tool of the design editor. It stays sharp, unlike lettering the AI draws.

On the server

Does it work with QBCore, Qbox and ESX?

The resource does not depend on a framework. Tattoos are applied by your appearance script: illenium-appearance on most QBCore and Qbox servers, fivem-appearance or xnTattoos on many ESX servers. The pack has a snippet for each.

Do players need to download anything?

No. FiveM streams the textures to players when they join, like any resource.

Do the tattoos work on addon peds?

No. Placements are made for the two freemode peds. Other peds lay out their skin differently, and illenium-appearance skips tattoos on them.
