Make your tattoos
Letting the AI draw it
Describe a tattoo or a patch, or give the AI a sketch, and get two takes with the background removed, straight on the ped.
How it works
The AI design is the second way to get a design into the Tattoo Studio. Under the drop zone, Or let the AI draw it turns a description, a reference picture or both into two takes with the background removed:
- Take 1 goes on the ped straight away, like an uploaded image.
- Tap Take 2 to compare it on the ped. The take marked in use is the one that gets built.
- From there it is a normal design: place it, add text in the editor, build.
The AI needs a SwisserAI account; the free studio without an account only offers uploads. The runs on this page took between 6.2 and 10.8 seconds until both takes were back.
Writing the prompt
Type what you want into the box, or tap an idea chip, which writes a full prompt you can then change:
- 1. Prompt: describe style, subject and colours
- 2. Old school: an idea chip writes a full prompt for you
- 3. Reference image (optional): a photo or sketch to redraw
- 4. Draw 2 takes · 150 credits: starts the paid generation
- Name the style: old school, blackwork, fine line, Japanese, tribal, script.
- Name the subject and colours: "a swallow with a red rose, bold black outlines, limited colour palette".
- Keep text out of the prompt. The AI often misspells letters. Add lettering afterwards with the editor's Text tool.
- Up to 400 characters.
The chips follow the Kind of the entry. For a tattoo they are:
Old school
A swallow with a red rose, bold black outlines, few colours.Blackwork
A solid black geometric wolf head.Fine line
A thin-line snake around a dagger, no fill.Japanese
A koi with waves and cherry blossoms.Tribal
A symmetrical black Polynesian pattern.Script
The word LOYALTY in ornate lettering with small stars.
For a patch the chips are MC rocker, Skull, Eagle, Wolf, Badge and Flames; see Designing the patch.
The Old school chip gave these two takes:
- 1. Take 1 · in use: the take that is on the ped now
- 2. Take 2: tap it to compare on the ped
Redrawing a reference image
Reference image (optional) attaches a photo or a sketch that the AI redraws as a tattoo. PNG, JPG or WebP up to 10 MB. The × next to the file name removes it again.
- 1. sketch-forest.png: the attached reference; × removes it
We attached a shaded pencil sketch and asked for a blackwork redraw:
The AI follows the reference closely: shapes, composition and fills come back almost as drawn, and the prompt mainly sets the style. Shade or fill the areas that should be ink; see the next section for why.
Picking a take
- Tap a take to put it on the ped. The one marked in use is built; the other is kept in the panel while the page is open.
- Uploading an image after that replaces the take on this entry.
- You get two takes per generation. For more, press Draw 2 takes again; each run is charged.
White inside a design
The AI draws on white, and the Tattoo Studio removes the white that is connected to the edge of the image. White that is enclosed by lines stays, and the game inks it white on the skin.
Our first reference was an outline sketch without shading. The mountains and the sun came back as outlines filled with white:
- Ask for solid black fills or blackwork, or use a reference with filled shapes, as above.
- Banners, speech bubbles and round frames often come back white inside. Check both takes on the ped before you build.
- To remove white from a take, erase it with the Eraser in the design editor.
Price and limits
- One generation costs 150 credits and gives 2 takes. The button shows the live price, for example Draw 2 takes · 150 credits.
- You pay once a take is ready, even if you use neither take. If no take comes back, nothing is charged.
- The AI design is paid on its own; the pack build costs 40 credits on top, whatever the designs came from.
- Up to 60 generations per hour.
With too few credits the button is disabled and the panel shows your balance with a Get credits link.
