Where the interior goes

Leave the spot to us, high above the ocean, or give your own coordinates. A wrong spot can be fixed later for free.

Auto spot

The Build dialog asks Where should it be placed?. Auto spot is the default: the build gets its own spot high above the ocean, away from the map, where no building or road of the map can be. Every build gets a fresh spot.

  1. 1. Auto spot: a free spot high above the ocean
  2. 2. Custom coordinates: your own X, Y, Z
  3. 3. Build interior: the price for this room count
  • The spot is picked when the build runs, between 1,200 and 2,250 m above sea level. Our cafe landed at X -5400, Y -4800, Z 1650.
  • The teleport command of the build takes you there, and the build page shows the exact numbers.
  • Each build draws one of 7,200 spots, so two builds on one server practically never meet. This is the right choice for interiors you reach by teleport or a housing script.

Custom coordinates

Custom coordinates places the interior where you say. X and Y are the centre of your floor plan in the GTA world, Z is the height of the floor.

  1. 1. X, Y, Z: centre of the floor plan, Z = floor height
  2. 2. Continue: asks once more before building
  • X and Y

    -7,800 to 7,800
  • Z (floor height)

    -200 to 2,400

A value outside the limits turns red under the fields, and Continue stays off:

Getting good coordinates

  1. 1

Go to the spot in game

Walk or drive to the place. Stand on the ground where the middle of the interior should be.

  2. 2

    Read your position

Use a coords command of your server, for example /pos, or read the spot from an interactive GTA V map. The Z you read standing is the floor height you want.

  3. 3

    Enter X, Y and Z

Type the three numbers into the Build dialog. Decimals with a point, for example -1850.5.

Not while flying

A Z read in noclip is the height you were flying at, often a hundred metres or more above the ground. The interior is then built in the air. Stand on the ground before you read the coordinates.

The builder does not check your spot against the map or your other resources. Pick free airspace, open ground or a place under the map, and remember that the shell is as big as your plan.

The last check

With custom coordinates the dialog does not build at once. Continue shows the three numbers in large type with the floor height warning. Read them once more, then press Yes, build here, or Back to coordinates to fix them.

  1. 1. Place the interior here?: read the numbers once more
  2. 2. Yes, build here

The spot is the one setting you cannot see in the 3D view, so this is the moment to catch a typo.

Moving a finished interior

If a build stands in the wrong place, move it instead of building it again. Move interior is on the build page, next to where the interior sits:

  1. 1

    Open Move interior

Press Move interior. The dialog is filled with the current coordinates.

    1. 1. X, Y, Z: the new floor centre
    2. 2. Continue: free
  2. 2

    Enter the new spot

Type the new X, Y and Z and press Continue, then Yes, move it here.

    1. 1. Yes, move it here
  3. 3

Replace the folder on your server

When the build page shows the new coordinates, download the zip again from the same place and replace the old folder on your server. Our move took 8 seconds.

  • Moving is free. The rooms and props stay exactly as built; only the position changes.
  • You can move up to 10 times a day.
  • When you build a design again, the Build dialog offers Move it for free if only the spot is wrong.

Rebuilds keep the spot

Custom coordinates are saved with the design. A rebuild lands at the same place, so replace the old folder instead of running both. A move also updates the design, so the next rebuild uses the new spot. With Auto spot, every build gets a new spot.
