Ped Creator
Turn a 3D character or a picture into an add-on ped for FiveM, rigged to the GTA skeleton so vanilla animations, emotes and weapons work.
What the Ped Creator does
The Ped Creator turns a 3D character into an add-on ped for FiveM. It fits the GTA freemode skeleton into your model, copies how the skin bends from GTA's own bodies and writes the game files.
The skeleton is the one GTA uses for player characters, so vanilla animations, emotes and weapons work on your ped. It is an add-on with its own model name: no GTA ped is replaced.
- Any human-shaped character works, rigged or not, from 0.5 to 3.5 m tall.
- Monsters and animals on two legs get their own profile.
- Rigid extras such as armour, a sword or a backpack can be pinned to one bone.
Two ways to start
In the first step of the Ped Creator, Source, you choose where the character comes from:
- What you bring:A GLB, GLTF, VRM, FBX or OBJ file, or a ZIP with the model and its textures, up to 200 MB.Cost before the build:Nothing.
- What you bring:One picture: one person, full body, front view, plain background. PNG or JPG up to 20 MB.Cost before the build:1,250 or 2,500 credits for the 3D model, by quality.
Both paths run through the same editor and the same build. A model made from a picture is dense and less exact than a finished model, so plan a few extra previews for it.
How it works
The Ped Creator works in a loop: change a setting, run a free preview, look at the result. When the preview looks right, you build.
- Upload a model or a picture. The first preview starts on its own and takes 40 to 75 seconds.
- Check the rigged ped in the viewport: 12 vanilla animations, a side-by-side with a GTA body, and warnings under the view.
- Fix what you see in the other seven steps. A changed step turns yellow until you press Update preview.
- Name the ped and press Build ped. The build delivers exactly what the last preview showed.
- 1. Build steps: the eight steps; every one stays clickable
- 2. View: Rigged, Source or Vs. vanilla
- 3. Update preview / Build ped: free previews, then the paid build
Every step except Source starts with settings that work for most human characters. The screen is explained step by step in The editor.
What you download
A Ped Creator build gives you one zip with one folder: a complete FiveM resource named after your ped.
fxmanifest.luaThe manifest. It registers peds.meta and loads the chat command.client.luaA test chat command, named like the ped, that switches you to it.peds.metaThe ped definition: male or female template, walk style and voice slot.README.txtInstall steps, body type, ragdoll and height, and the warnings of the build as notes.stream/Four game files: the skeleton with its ragdoll, the three body models with their distance models, the textures and the variation info.storymode/Only with Story Mode version on: a single-player DLC for GTA V Legacy.
The result page adds 22 pictures of the ped in vanilla poses, rendered from these game files. Every file is listed in What is in the zip.
What it costs
The Ped Creator charges credits for the build and for a model made from a picture. Uploads, previews and drafts are free.
Build from your own model
2,5003D model from a picture, Medium / High
1,250 / 2,500Ped from a picture in total, Medium / High
3,750 / 5,000Preview
Free, 30 per draft
- No subscription is needed; any credits work.
- Credits are held when a job starts and charged only when it succeeds. A failed run costs nothing.
- The editor always shows the live price. During a discount it shows the lower one.
What it cannot do
A Ped Creator ped is an add-on ped. Every script that takes a ped model can use it, but that sets some limits:
- One fixed look. Clothing shops, head blend and character creators only work on the two freemode peds, so players cannot change clothes or faces on yours.
- No cloth simulation. Skirts, robes and capes follow the legs; a tight skirt still shows the front knee when running.
- No new animations or voices. The ped uses GTA's animations, and its walk style and voice slot come from Body type.
- Painted eyes stay still. A head made from a picture has its eyes only in the texture, so they don't blink or look around. A model with its own eyes keeps its lids: the eyes look around but don't blink. The mouth does move: see Face.
- Very tall peds sink into the floor. With hips far above those of a GTA ped, walking and running put the feet about 30 cm into the ground.
- Long weapons can clip through bulky bodies, because GTA holds every weapon at the vanilla position.
Note
Test every new ped on a development server before players get it: walk, sit in a car, aim a weapon.
