FAQ
Short answers to what people ask most about the Ped Creator.
General
Does my ped replace a GTA ped?
No. Every Ped Creator ped is an add-on with its own model name, next to the vanilla peds. GTA ped names are blocked.
Do I need a subscription?
No. A ped costs credits, and any credits work: 2,500 for the build, plus 1,250 or 2,500 for a model from a picture. Previews are free.
Can I try it for free?
Uploading, previews and the animations in the viewport are free, 30 previews per draft. You see the rigged ped before you pay. There is no free build.
Can I make animals or monsters?
On two legs, yes: set Profile to Creature in Skin weights. Four-legged animals do not work, because the ped uses the human GTA skeleton.
Is a failed build charged?
No. Credits are held while a job runs and charged only when it succeeds.
Making a ped
Can I change my ped after the build?
Yes. Open in the Ped Creator on the result page reopens the draft with every setting. Change what you need, preview for free and build again. Each build is charged in full.
Can I use a model I bought or downloaded?
Only if its licence allows you to change it and use it on your server. Upload it like your own model.
Do I have to rig my model first?
No. The Ped Creator finds the joints itself. A rig in the file helps with fingers and with legs under skirts; see Rigged or not.
Does the face move when the ped talks?
With Face on, the ped has 19 face bones for eyes, jaw and brows, and GTA's facial animations move them. A head made from a picture gets a mouth that opens, but its painted eyes stay still; see Face. With the Creature profile the head moves as one piece.
How long are my drafts kept?
You keep your last 30 drafts. Starting one more removes the draft you changed least recently, an empty one first. A draft with a model goes only when every other draft has one too. Built peds stay in My assets regardless.
Can I generate the model from my picture again?
Yes, in a new draft: Generate 3D model only shows while a draft has no model. Each generation is paid; see After the model is ready.
On the server
Do players need to download anything?
No. FiveM streams the ped to players when they join, like any resource.
Does it work with ESX, QBCore and Qbox?
Yes. The resource does not depend on a framework. Give the ped through a ped menu, your own script or the chat command; see Switch to the ped.
Can players use the ped as their character?
Yes, as a player model. It keeps one fixed look, though: clothing shops, barbers and character creators only work on the freemode peds. See Add-on ped, not freemode.
Will a custom ped slow down my server?
Not if you keep it light. Vanilla peds use about 15,000 triangles; set budgets in Parts and use Texture size 1024 for most peds.
Does it work in single player?
With Story Mode version on, the zip also holds a DLC for GTA V Legacy; see Story Mode.
Can every player use the chat command?
Yes, by default. Remove it or limit it to admins; see Limit or remove the chat command. The example ped answers to /sws_mechanic.
