Skin packs

Make a skin pack

Give the weapons on your server a new look. Pick up to 20 GTA weapons, paint or generate their textures, and download one resource that replaces them.

What a skin pack is

A skin pack changes how GTA weapons look on your server. You pick weapons such as the Combat Pistol or the Carbine Rifle Mk II, give them new textures, and download one resource that replaces their textures for every player.

  • Same weapons: names, spawn codes, stats, ammo and attachments stay exactly as they are.
  • Nothing to set up: inventories, shops and scripts keep working, because no new weapon is added.
  • Everyone sees it: once the resource runs, every player who holds the weapon sees the new skin.

Skin pack or addon weapon

The Weapon Studio opens on a choice between the two. You can switch at the top of the studio at any time, and the Skin pack and Addon weapon tabs keep their own work.

  • What it does

Skin pack:Replaces the look of weapons players already have.
Addon weapon:Adds a new weapon with its own name next to the vanilla ones.
  • Weapons

Skin pack:Every reskinnable GTA weapon, DLC weapons included.
Addon weapon:One of 10 base weapons.
  • Look

Skin pack:New textures on the original shape.
Addon weapon:New textures, your own 3D model, or a model made from a picture.
  • Attachments and stats

    Skin pack:Unchanged.
Addon weapon:Your own parts, fire mode, damage, range and magazine.
  • Setup on the server

    Skin pack:Ensure one resource.
Addon weapon:Ensure the resource and add the weapon to your framework or inventory.
  • Price

Skin pack:100 credits per changed weapon.
Addon weapon:From 250 credits per weapon, plus 50 per part.

Rule of thumb: if the weapon should stay the same weapon and only look different, make a skin pack. If you want a second variant next to the original, a different shape or attachments, make an addon weapon.

Picking weapons

Add weapon in Your pack on the left opens Pick weapons to reskin: every weapon the studio can reskin, as cards with a picture of the weapon.

  • Type a name into the search, for example combat pistol, or narrow the list with the class chips: Pistol, SMG, Rifle, MG, Shotgun, Sniper, Heavy and Melee.
  • A badge on a card names the update the weapon came with, such as Gunrunning or Business. Weapons without a badge are from the base game.
  • Click a card to add the weapon to your pack; a tick marks the weapons already in it. The × next to a weapon in Your pack takes it out again.
  • The counter at the top of Your pack shows how many of the 20 places are used.
  • Addon on a card means the weapon can also be the base of an addon weapon.

Changing the textures

Click a weapon in Your pack. The 3D preview shows it with its original look, and Textures of this weapon on the right lists its textures with a thumbnail and the size in pixels. Most weapons have a Weapon body texture and a Markings and decals texture; some add a stock, a magazine or camo patterns.

  • Paint

Opens the texture editor on the original texture. See Paint on the original texture.
  • Upload

Puts your own PNG, JPG or WebP on the texture. It is scaled to the size of the original.
  • Template

Downloads the original texture as a PNG, to paint on in Photoshop, GIMP or any other program and upload again.
  • AI skin design

Repaints the selected texture from a description. See AI skin designs.
  • Start with Weapon body. It covers most of the weapon and is what people mean by the skin.
  • Textures you leave alone keep their original look, so you only change what you want.
  • The strip under the preview switches between the textures of the weapon. In Your pack each weapon shows how many of its textures you changed.

Checking the look

The preview updates as soon as you apply a texture. Drag to turn the weapon, scroll to zoom. Once a texture is changed, Hold for original appears above the preview: hold it to see the original look, let go to see yours again.

Note

The preview uses neutral studio light. In the game the weapon picks up the light of the scene, so very dark or very bright skins look a little different there.

A pack with five skinned weapons costs 500 credits. The build button shows the exact total before you start, and the credits are only charged when the build succeeds.

Installing the pack

The download is one zip with one folder: a FiveM resource with an fxmanifest.lua and a stream/ folder that holds the new weapon textures.

  • Unzip it into the resources folder of your server.
  • Add one line to server.cfg with the folder name, then restart the server.
ensure my_weapon_skins
  • There is nothing to add to ESX, QBCore, ox_inventory or any other script: the weapons keep their names.
  • Two resources that both replace the same weapon fight over it, and the one started last wins. Remove older skin resources for the same weapons, or put all your skins into one pack.
  • Players who still see the old skin have it cached. A reconnect after the restart fixes it.
