Troubleshooting
Most problems are a missing ensure line, a framework that does not know the weapon, or a model that sits wrong in the hand. Start at the top.
The weapon does not appear
When a Weapon Studio weapon is installed but nobody can get it, go through these in order:
- server.cfg. The
ensureline must match the folder name exactly, for exampleensure weapon_sandstormrifle. - Folder.
fxmanifest.luamust sit directly in the resource folder, not in a second folder inside it. - Restart and reconnect. Restart the server, then reconnect, so the game loads the new weapon files.
- The weapon name. Use the name from the result page, such as
WEAPON_SANDSTORMRIFLE, not the display name. QBCore items use it in lowercase. - The framework. ESX, QBCore and ox_inventory refuse or remove weapons they do not know. Add the weapon to their list; see ESX, QBCore and ox_inventory.
The build button does not start
The line under the button names what is missing. The common cases:
Give your weapon a name (step 6, Identity & stats).Type a name in step 6.The name collides with a weapon that exists in the game (step 6).Pick another name; see Names that already exist.Replace at least one texture before buildingon a reskin with parts but no texture. Keeping the vanilla look is not possible at the moment; upload a texture to one slot.- A texture or the model is still uploading. Wait a few seconds and press again.
- Too few credits. The panel shows what you need and your balance, with Top up.
The build failed
A failed build costs nothing: the held credits go back. The message on the job page says why where it can:
The model has no UV map, so a texture cannot be placed on it.orThe model has no texture.Export the model again with UVs and the texture embedded. See Exporting from Blender. One of the texture slots does not exist on this base weapon, so the build stopped and nothing was charged.Remove the image from that slot. This currently happens on Camo pattern 1 of the Baseball Bat.The attachments could not be built, so no download was created and nothing was charged.Remove the part you added last, or pick another, and build again. The built resource did not pass our checks, so no download was created.Try other fit values in Fit & size, or another base. The build failed. Please try again.Try once more. If it fails again with the same setup, report it; see below.
Known issue: Sniper Rifle builds with attachments currently fail with the last message, and nothing is charged. Until this is fixed, use another base for a weapon with parts.
The weapon sits wrong in the hand
For your own or a generated model, the fit decides how it sits. Open the draft, fix it in Fit & size and build again:
- Backwards: press Flip 180°.
- Upside down or tilted: turn it with Rotate X (roll) until the grip points down in the Side and Front views.
- Too big or too small: tick Match the base weapon's length, or set the length yourself.
- Shots or the muzzle flash from the wrong spot: drag the Muzzle dot onto the front of the barrel.
- Sights off-centre when aiming: adjust the sliders in First person after an in-game test.
A changed fit charges the weapon again. A reskin always sits like the base weapon.
The texture looks wrong
- Scrambled or in the wrong places. Your image is placed like the original texture, which is the weapon laid flat. Use a pattern that fills the image, or paint on the original texture. See Making a texture that works.
- A logo on Markings and decals does not show. On every firearm base except the Pistol .50 that slot does not show images as a print yet. Paint the logo into Weapon body (main texture).
- Blurry. Use an image at least as large as the original texture, and keep its aspect ratio.
- The studio shows the plain grey weapon. That is expected: the viewport shows the shape. The renders on the result page show your texture.
Attachments do not show or sit wrong
- No part on the weapon. Parts are components; give each one with
GiveWeaponComponentToPedor through your inventory. Only the magazine part is on from the start. - A part floats or hides inside the weapon. Check the Side view in Attachments: a suppressor must touch the muzzle, a magazine must show below the grip. Move it with the sliders, add the part again with Add attachments and install the new build.
- No mount for the part you want. The base decides the mounts; a pistol has no optic. See Mounts.
Still stuck
Use Report a problem at the bottom right of the weapon's page, so we see the build you mean, or ask in the SwisserAI Discord. Mention the weapon name and what you see in game.
