Use it
The result and the files
Your import lands in your assets like any other prop: check it, fix it in the editor for free, and download the resource.
Finding the import
Every import lands in your assets, next to your other props. The card shows the model, Completed and the type Library import, for curated and Sketchfab models alike. The Library filter above the list shows only these.
- 1. Library: shows only library imports
- 2. park_bench: the new prop, typed Library import; click it to open
A curated import takes you to this list; a Sketchfab import opens the asset page directly. Click a card to open its page.
The asset page
The asset page is the same for every prop in your assets. The title line repeats the type, the usage and the date; the bar above the view gives triangles, vertices, meshes and the real size.
- 1. 1.46 m × 95 cm × 82 cm: the size in game, with your scale
Check the size once more, with Show size at the bottom left. It is the same size reference as in the import dialog. Then download with FiveM .zip at the top right. The arrow next to it lists the single files:
- 1. FiveM .zip: the whole resource
- 2. GLB Model: for Blender
What is in the zip
The download of our bench, park_bench.zip, is 48 KB and holds these files. Every file is named after the prop, so several props do not clash:
fxmanifest.luaSize:277 BWhat it is:The manifest. It streams everything in stream and loads the archetype.park_bench.glbSize:27 KBWhat it is:The converted model for Blender or other 3D tools. Not needed on the server.stream/park_bench_col.ybnSize:3 KBWhat it is:The collision, so players can stand or sit on it and cars hit it.stream/park_bench.ydrSize:7 KBWhat it is:The model, with lighter versions for distance.stream/park_bench.ytdSize:24 KBWhat it is:The textures.stream/park_bench.ytypSize:562 BWhat it is:The archetype that tells the game the model name and its size.
The manifest is short and needs no changes:
fx_version 'cerulean'
game 'gta5'
description '<job id> - Generated by SwisserAI'
files {
'stream/**/*.ybn',
'stream/**/*.ydr',
'stream/**/*.ytd',
'stream/**/*.ytyp',
}
data_file 'DLC_ITYP_REQUEST' 'stream/**/*.ytyp'- No outer folder. The files sit at the top of the zip, so you make the resource folder yourself; see Install.
- The description line holds the job id, not the prop name. It is only a label; change it if you like.
- No credit file. Add one for CC-BY and CC-BY-SA models; see Keep the credit with the resource.
Fixing and rebuilding
An imported prop opens in the same editor as a generated one, and a rebuild with your changes is free. The 3D Generator guide explains each tool:
Wrong size
Tool:Scale, with Scale to sizeGuide:Rotate and scaleLying on its side
Tool:RotateGuide:Rotate and scaleA ground plate or extra objects
Tool:Remove unwanted partsGuide:Removing unwanted partsColours
Tool:PaintGuide:Material and paintApply the changes
Tool:RebuildGuide:Rebuilding
Sketchfab models often come with a ground plate, a backdrop or several objects in one scene. Remove unwanted parts takes them out before you use the prop.
Animate or merge it
- 1. Animate: opens it in Prop Studio
- 2. Merge: joins it with other props
- 3. FiveM .zip: the resource
- Animate opens the prop in Prop Studio, which makes doors swing and fans spin. Only parts that are separate meshes in the model can move; a model made of one mesh moves as a whole.
- Merge joins the prop with other props from your assets into one resource, for free. Handy when you import a whole set, such as the shop fittings of a mini market; see the Resource Merger.
- Share with the community offers the prop in Community Assets. Share only CC0 models, or credit the author in the description.
