Design
The editor
Paint, write and place images on the flat livery texture, and watch the car change in the 3D preview while you work.
Finding your way around
The Livery Studio editor puts the car's livery texture in the middle of the screen. Everything else floats around it:
- 1. AI design, 3D preview, Build livery: studio actions
- 2. Delivery bar: mode and one tab per design
- 3. Tools
- 4. Layers
- 5. Live preview: drag to turn, click to find a spot
The header names the car and says whether you paint a full-body wrap or decal zones. The strip above the texture shows its size, the zoom and the number of layers. Undo, redo, zoom and the shortcut list sit on the right of it. Tab hides the side panels when you need room.
Reading the texture
The texture is the car body laid flat, like a paper model cut open: both sides, the hood, the roof and the bumpers sit next to each other. Sticker and wrap designs start on an empty, transparent 1024 by 1024 canvas.
The magenta lines are the UV guide. They outline every panel so you know where to paint. The guide is only a painting aid: it is never exported and never shows on the car. The button bottom left switches it off and on, the slider next to it sets its opacity.
Good to know
Anything painted outside the outlined panels lands on no part of the car. Paint over the panel edges generously; the areas in between do no harm.
The tools
The tool bar at the bottom holds five tools and the image button. Every tool has a key.

Numbers, text and logos
With the Text tool, click where the text should start, type and press Ctrl+Enter or click outside. The panel on the right sets the text, font, size, bold and italic, alignment, letter spacing, fill colour and an outline.
- 1. Text (T): click on the texture to place text
- 2. Font: Anton, Bebas Neue and more
There are 13 fonts: nine standard ones such as Arial and Impact, and four display fonts that suit race numbers and unit markings: Anton, Bebas Neue, Black Ops One and Oswald.
Add an image opens the file picker; you can also drop an image file on the texture or paste one with Ctrl+V. Use a PNG with a transparent background for logos, so only the logo lands on the paint. The panel of a selected image adds Centre, Fit, Fill and flips.
Note
A car has two sides on the texture, and they are not always turned the same way. Place text on each side separately and check both in the 3D preview.
Layers
Everything you add is its own layer in the Layers panel. An AI design becomes the Template layer at the bottom, locked so it cannot slide away; on the Police Cruiser and the Taxi the stock design of the slot is the Template.
- Drag layers in the list to change what lies on top.
- The eye hides a layer, a double click renames it.
- The + in the Layers header adds an image, an empty paint layer, text or a shape.
- Picture layers have Light and Color sliders; Hue on the Template recolours a whole AI design.
The live 3D preview
The preview bottom left shows the car with your design, updated a moment after every change. It turns by itself; Stop holds it and Spin starts it again. Drag to turn it by hand. 3D preview in the header hides or shows it.
- 1. Stop: holds the rotation, Spin starts it
- 2. Body paint: preview only, players pick the paint in game
Body paint changes the paint colour under your livery, so you can check the design on a black, white or coloured car. It is a preview only: in game the paint stays whatever the player picks, and transparent parts of your design show that paint.
Finding a spot on the texture
Click the car in the 3D preview, without dragging. A green ring marks the same point on the texture, so you know where the door, the hood or the roof is before you paint.
- 1. Click on the car: without dragging
- 2. Green ring: the same point on the texture
Stop the rotation first so you hit the spot you mean. Next: AI design, or build the pack.
